• We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God.
II Timothy 3:16-17  All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so  that the  man  of God may be thoroughly equipped  for every good work.
  • The Bible reveals to us God's love for us and His plan of redemption for mankind.
God sent his only begotten Son that all men might have  forgiveness.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have  eternal life.

The coming of God's son was foretold in the Old Testament scripture.

Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and resurrected.

Acts 2:22-24 Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did  among you  through him,  as you yourselves know.  This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you , with the help of wicked men put him to death by nailing him to the cross.  But God raised him from the dead  freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

Because of Christ's sacrifice, we can be reconciled with God, just as if  we had never sinned.

Romans 5:9-10  Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more  having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life.

God saves us by His grace.

Ephesians 2:8   For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

God requires a response from us to receive his gift of grace.

We must hear the word of God and have faith in Him.

Hebrews 11:6  And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (NKJV)

We must repent of our sins.

Acts 2:38  Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 17:30-31  In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands  all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the   world  with  justice by the man he has appointed.  He has given proof  of this to all men  by raising him from the dead.

We must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Romans 10:9-10  That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved .
We must be baptized.

Acts 2: 38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and  you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

I Peter 3:21  and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you  also-not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

We must live a transformed life.

Romans 6:3-4 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?  We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Ephesians 4:22-24  You were taught, with regard to your former way of life,  to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true  righteousness and holiness

II Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

  • The Bible is a guide for our lives.
Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

It tells us that first and foremost we are to love God.

Matthew 22:36-28  "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment.

Secondly, love your neighbor as yourself.

Matthew 22:39-40  And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself."All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.

We should not keep on sinning to increase grace.

Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say, then?  Shall we go on sinning that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

We should strive to avoid sin

Romans 6:12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.

Colossians 3:5-10 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.  You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.   But now you must  rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.  Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and  have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

James 1:21-22 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.

  • When we are baptized, we become a part of the church.
I Corinthians 12:12-27 and Ephesians 4:15-16

The church is the body of Christ with Christ at the head.

All baptized believers are part of the family of God.

We are to live in community with each  another by:

Being devoted to one another in brotherly love. (Rom 12:10)

Living in harmony with one another. (Romans 12:16)

Accepting one another as Christ accepted us. (Romans 15:7)

Living in unity with each other. (I Corinthians 1:10)

Being kind and compassionate to one another. (Ephesians 4:32)

Forgiving each other as Christ forgave us. (Colossians  3:13)

Encouraging and building each other up. (Colossians 3:16; I Thessalonians 5:11)
